Always an Engaging Colour Mix

Image
Always as a graphic designer, yellow, not a pastel yellow, but a good, rich yellow, was a colour I used so often as it often gave that pop of colour when required.  Designing with black and white is just such an awesome combination.  These were both such great designs to work on and it is not until you see them in person that you see all the gorgeous work that has gone into the both of them. Happy Beach Design

I have been very busy lately re-organsing my crafting area and bringing my Silhouette machines closer and hooking them up to a new machine.  Then my niece moved with her new babe and man to NSW and she is a tad bored and she likes to be creative and so I offered to put a pack together to send to her so she can amuse herself.  She was also after some recipes, so I have been putting together a cookbook for her as well, with some of my favourite recipes. I also started a few projects, but they are all under construction, a hot air balloon, which is a prototype for a FabScraps project that is coming my way.  A wooden mini album that is half finished, another mini album cut out on the Silhouette machines and then I have created about 3 layouts, one for Let's Get Sketchy June, one for a friend of my daughters and another just for fun.

Let's Get Sketchy - May Challenges

Image
Challenge for May 1st over on the Let's Get Sketchy blog is the design below. My inspiration was the little flags/tags at the bottom, plus having 2 photo spots.  So here is my interpretation below.  Totally inspired by the 2 picture layout and the little flags.  I love to make flag banners, they always look so cute. There is always a great prize up each month up for grabs, so check out letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com.au The second layout for the month, May 15. This will both look even nicer once in its shadow box frame.  Go to www.jacobicreations.com to find out more and to see all pieces that are for sale.

Creativity over a few days

So, I have been busy reorganising my craft space, in between, bouts of pain and creativity.  I must take all things slow and steady, otherwise, I make the body crash and I go into hibernation for a while.  I got some creative things done which was nice and enjoyable and so first off we have a pretty orange layout. Then I started to play with a new stencil and the pattern made me think of a dreamcatcher, so this one is a little different. After that was a request from a young lady, so I did her two options, both with purple tones. The first and the second - which is the one she chose.  She loved the first one until she saw the second one! Then I needed something fresh and wonderful to work on, well, they are all wonderful!  So out came this little green number with funky hearts and things.  Bit of a past blast this one as I used my very first stencil ever purchased.   That's it!

Fun in the World of Fantasy

Much fun to be had with this design - it is funny how designs for me just evolve.  I don't have things picked out beforehand.  I just wing it as I go along and take inspiration as it comes.  That is how I cook also - it all works out in the end! These are the papers that came in a new scrapbooking kit subscription I have and they are Kaisercraft papers, mostly with a water theme and so I ripped them and layered them up.  Then on went some wave stencilling with white modelling paste and then out came all the blue and green sprays I own.  I have Ranger and Kaisercraft sprays and though the Kaiser ones are not waterproof, they have a great depth of colour to them.  I also pulled out a white spray and did some gesso splatters.  It did take quite a bit of spraying to get the look I was after and even then I was not sure that I had it right.  But with the right amount of playing and splattering, drying and going again, it turned out perfectly.
