Latest AltairArt creation - Unique Beauty

Image
I have been playing once again with my AltairArt collection utilising two different collections - Sunrise and EverDream collections.  Sunrise 5 is a beautiful paper, I really love the colouring throughout this paper and it made the perfect background.  Strangely, I was in a dark mood when I sat down to be creative and so I wanted to grunge the design up a bit.  So I did and I initially spread some white modelling paste in my creative areas and then I used graphite texture paste through a graffiti type Dusty Attic stencil.  After that, out came the sprays and I splattered and dribbled them around the page.   Once this was dry, I started building up my photo matte and then on goes the process of lace, ribbon, ephemera and plenty of flowers, finished off with some bling.  Close ups below.  Hope you like it.  To see more of my work, please go to www.jacobicreations.com

AltairArt Design Team member and my works so far

Image
Okay, so yes, I am back!  Been away for a few months as I changed my life from being a city chick and becoming a farm chick!!  It has been an amazing ride.  I now live on an 8000 acre cattle property after coming for an interview for a nanny and falling in love with the absolute love of my life.  So, I guess I became a stepmum almost overnight and living on a farm with cattle, driving utes and four wheel drives on many a dirt road and having to drive at least an hour to get groceries.  I love it all, my life is how it was always meant to be and I am more happy than I can possibly describe.   Finding time to be creative has been most difficult, first of all I had no space, but found a table outside, but then the weather caused all sorts of issues even though it was undercover.  Some more accommodation was added to the house which freed up another large room and then that has become the classroom and my craft room.  So, I finally have some spac...

Showing the versatility of a Hero Arts Digital Download

Image
As a design team member for A2Z scrapbooking, I have been using digital downloads each month and this month I chose to use the Poetic Petals digital download from Hero Arts.  This pack has four really beautifully sketched flowers, plus some papers and some embellishments.  I got to post three times this month and I used the same digital download each time to show the versatility of digital downloads. The first layout I did hybrid style, printing out the flowers at different sizes and colouring them in.  I once again used my Chameleon pens and also some pencils.  I cut these out and then arranged them around the photo area so it was if the photo is being surrounded by a bouquet of flowers.  At this stage the layout was a tad flat and I don't really do flat layouts, I like layers and depth, it is just more interesting.  Plus height gives you a bit more room to play with by tucking things underneath. Next up I went completely digital and used the flow...

Fabscraps C100 Album

Image
After working on the Fabscraps C100 balloon I created, I was in need for something a bit more freewheeling, the balloon had a wonderful theme to it, but I just needed to let loose a little and so I turned to the album, where the cover is shaped like a cog and the rest of the pages are circular. I had much fun once again with this one, lots of embossing throughout, especially, as you can see, on the front cover!  This paper collection comes with tags and stickers, 2 different stencils, 12" and 6" papers, the butterfly is cut separate and the album also comes with the metal rings to bind it all together.  My only mistake was getting completely carried away and decorated the very back cover.  Clearly, I was enjoying myself, wayyyyy too much.  Wait, is that even possible when it comes to creativity.  I am sure not. Lots of cogs were used throughout as the paper is themed steampunk with lots of groovy images that are just crying out to be fussy cut.  ...

Let's Get Sketchy - May Challenges

Image
Challenge for May 1st over on the Let's Get Sketchy blog is the design below. My inspiration was the little flags/tags at the bottom, plus having 2 photo spots.  So here is my interpretation below.  Totally inspired by the 2 picture layout and the little flags.  I love to make flag banners, they always look so cute. There is always a great prize up each month up for grabs, so check out letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com.au The second layout for the month, May 15. This will both look even nicer once in its shadow box frame.  Go to www.jacobicreations.com to find out more and to see all pieces that are for sale.
