Flower Power with Hero Arts and A2Z scrapbooking

Image
Flower Power is the theme of the month over at A2Z scrapbooking this month.  Literally, say no more!  I do believe we have already established that I loooove flowers.  Not in my garden though, just in my art!  I prefer non-flowering plants in my garden - strange, I know!! So, using the Hero Arts Digital Download called Pretty Blossoms I coloured the flowers in photoshop and then printed them out on gloss photo paper and fussy cut them out.  I started with some white card and clear gessoed it so that it was prepared for future textures and sprays.  Using a Kaisercraft flower stencil I used white embossing paste and applied that to the background and them mixed some white embossing paste with some "Polka Purple" from Lindy's Magicals and applied that through a Prima stencil.  My favourite Lindy's Magical is "Oom Pah Pah Pink" and so I lightly sprinkled some of that over the embossed background and hit it with the water spray and it certainly worked it...

Pretty in Pink

Image
If you asked me to pick my top 10 favourite colours, pink would not be one of them!  However, it constantly manages to creep into my artwork.  Weird.  This layout was done for the More than Words challenge for the month of April, which is black and white, plus one and using the word "Dream".  I forgot about the Dream part as you will see, so perhaps it won't get entered after all. This candy floss pink is such a pretty colour and coupled with black and white, it is just so elegant and classy.  I had alot of fun with this design, playing with the ribbon initially to see if I liked it curving along, but it worked brilliantly and the left over ribbon then got threaded through the cut panel that sits behind the image panel.  I had a little play with Lindy's Magical Shakers using it in my modelling paste to create pink.  The variance of colour in these shaker colours is truly extraordinary, yesterday, I used it to make red modelling paste and it...

Green Dreams

Image
And then there was green with black and white and yes, I finally remembered to put the word "dream" on at long last ... better late than never!  Hooray for me.  This is such a great layout as it showcases so many items purchased at the cheap shop.  The white swirl is a piece of chipboard which I painted white and then embossed in white so it is nice and smooth and shiny.  The tag with the spots on that pokes up from behind is also from the cheap shop as is the peg.  You gotta love the cheap shops.  Somehow I manage to spend over $100 in them every time - it is amazing how those $2 things add up. The rest of the ephemera is Kaisercraft - I seriously have alot of it, plus the flowers except for the green one.  Word letters are Thickers and papers are from all kinds.  I am not helping to promote any products, this is all just done for my own enjoyment.  If you would like to purchase this layout, please go to the shop (not currently acti...
